Trisiloxane, 3-ethenyl-1,1,1,3,5,5,5-heptamethyl- - Introduction
Vinylmethylbis(trimethylsiloxy)silane, also known as VMMS, is an organosilicon compound.
Nature:
-Appearance: Colorless or light yellow liquid
-Molecular formula: C9H24O2Si3
-Molecular weight: 248.56g/mol
-Density: 0.873g/cm3
-Boiling Point: 170-180°C
-Melting point:-90°C
-Refractive Index: 1.426
Use:
VMMS is mainly used for the preparation of modified silicone materials, such as silicone rubber, silicone rubber moldshell mold (RTV), coatings, adhesives, etc. It can be used as a crosslinking agent, plasticizer, silane coupling agent and other functional additives, and can improve the material's heat resistance, chemical resistance, bonding properties and anti-aging properties.
Preparation Method:
VMMS is typically prepared by the reaction of vinyl iodide and trimethylchlorosilane. In a specific step, vinyl iodide and trimethylchlorosilane are subjected to an addition reaction in the presence of an organic solvent to produce Vinylmethylbis(trimethylsiloxy)silane.
Safety Information:
VMMS may be irritating to the eyes, skin and respiratory system. Use appropriate protective measures, such as goggles, protective gloves and protective masks. Use with adequate ventilation and avoid inhalation, ingestion or contact with skin. In case of accidental contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical help.
